Q: Does it cost me anything to join?
A: Absolutely not! AllChatSites Topsite List is 100% free. All you have to do to get your website listed and get free traffic is link to our site and start sending us hits. After that, our topsite script will automatically record the hits and rank your chat on the topsite list.
Q: What are the restrictions and who can join?
A: Your website must be complete (not under construction), of outstanding quality, and feature at least one chatroom or provide content, products, or services relevant to internet chat. Adult chatrooms are ok but porn is NOT acceptable. Any sites violating these restrictions or the terms of service will be deleted from the topsite database without warning.
Q: How will joining the topsite boost my search engine rank?
A: Most major internet search engines (Google, Yahoo!, MSN Search, etc) rank sites based on the number of relevant sites linking to them. By having prominent links to your chat site from our top chat sites list, your search engine rankings will also increase. This is because unlike most topsite scripts, ours links directly to your website
Q: How is AllChatSites better then other chat topsite lists?
A: Unlike most topsite scripts, ours links directly to your website. Rather then masking your link behind a "?referral=1234567" or sneaky meta-refresh / redirect link, we link to your normal http://www.website.com link. This also helps boost your search engine rankings for "chat" relevant searches.
Q: How do you record incoming and outgoing hits with no referral or redirect links?
A: Though my lead programmer and developer would love to talk your ear off all day about the inner secrets of exactly how our topsite script works, I can't let him give away all our secrets! I can tell you that the script uses a bit of PHP magic to record incoming hits on the server-side and some Javascript voodoo to record hits out on the client-side.
Q: Am I allowed to use a button or banner?
A: Yes. You may upload an image to represent your chat on the topsite list. Note the topsite images may only be shown for the top ranking websites on the list, depending on the administrator settings at the time.
Q: Will you host my topsite button or banner image for me?
A: Yes. In fact, we insist on hosting the image for you. Uploading your image to our server is not only convenient for you, but insures that every button and banner on the topsite will load quickly every time. Registered members may upload their image in the member control panel.
Q: What are the allowed file types for topsite buttons and banners?
A: We allow GIF (.gif), PNG (.png), and JPEG (.jpg, .jpeg) image file types for the topsite list buttons and banners.
Q: What are the size limitations for topsite images?
A: Banners and buttons used for the topsite list must be no larger then 88 pixels wide or 31 pixels in height (88x31). The file size must be 15kb or smaller.
